G1 Group Announce Partnership With Montpeliers Group To Deliver Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Two of Scotland’s largest hospitality groups have announced today a partnership programme which will allow the G1 Group to offer Hospitality Modern Apprenticeships to its workforce. It is the latest in a series of announcements from the Group this year which highlight its ongoing commitment to people development via its Serving Up Success initiative- something which it says has contributed directly to a 21% decrease in staff turnover across their estate.

The Scottish Government funded apprenticeship programme focusses on upskilling within hospitality specialisms. The SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) qualifications on offer include Level 2 Beverage Service, Food & Beverage Service, Hospitality Service (including Reception & Housekeeping), Kitchen Services and Professional Cookery, as well as Level 3 Hospitality Supervision & Leadership and Professional Cookery. These work-related, competence based qualifications mean that employees aged 16-24 can continue to learn and work at the same time, gaining industry recognised qualifications as they go.
Maureen Brownlie, Head Of Centre at Montpeliers, said of the partnership-

“Montpeliers Edinburgh LTD are delighted to be in partnership working with the G1 Group in the delivery of the Hospitality Modern Apprenticeship Programme. We advocate the importance of allowing staff to progress and develop within the trade and to be able to work towards recognised qualifications wherever possible. It is our mission to allow all staff this opportunity.”
