Grosvenor Cinema Set To Show Special 35mm Screening Of War Epic Dunkirk
Film Fans are in for a treat this summer as the west end institution Grosvenor Cinema looks set to show a special 35mm screening of Dunkirk, set to be one of the year’s biggest releases. Set against the backdrop of the Dunkirk evacuation, and starring Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and pop heart throb Harry Styles, the movie is directed by Christopher Nolan- who shot to fame following his work on Inception and The Dark Knight.
Nolan, who is known to be a fan of 35mm print, would no doubt be thrilled that his latest blockbuster is being shown in this rare format, and thus far, the Grosvenor is the only cinema in Scotland to announce it. The screening marks a renaissance for 35 and 70mm in Glasgow, where movie buffs and fans of retro cinema have been turning out in droves to a host of special screenings and events to experience this authentic cinematic style.
The screenings will coincide with the release date of 21st July, and will go on sale soon via the Grosvenor Cinema website here.
